“SCAM! DO NOT BOOK AIRPORT TRANSPORT WITH TRIPADVISOR / VIATOR IN PUNTA CANA This was an organized scam. I booked and PAID $60.00 round trip for 2 people from the Airport to the Hotel in Punta Cana through TripAdvisor. Once I landed in the Dominican Republic, their subcontractor VIATOR demanded an extra $72.65 claiming the hotel was "too far", raising the total to $132.65. This is extortion, as the price was already closed and paid at booking. The worst part came on our return day: THEY NEVER SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP AT THE HOTEL* to take us to the airport. We were left stranded. When I called, VIATOR lied saying they had called us, sent an email, and came at 9am. the pickup was booked to 11:30 am FALSE. We never received a call, a text message, and no one showed up at the hotel lobby. They have zero proof of any call or message because it never happened. I requested a refund from TripAdvisor and they refused, without asking Viator for a single piece of evidence to support their lie. They cover for each other. I had to pay for a private emergency taxi to avoid missing my flight. Conclusion, Double charge, service not provided, zero customer support, and complicity between TripAdvisor and Viator. This is a malicious and fraudulent way of doing business. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. If you go to Punta Cana, book transportation directly with your hotel or a certified taxi.”
