“My husband and I did the Dominican Life Tour with Concept Tours in early July, and it ended up being one of the best memories from our 10-day stay in Punta Cana. On the day of our tour, the rest of our group had to cancel — but instead of cancelling on us, the owner, Jeremy, personally guided us himself, despite English being his second language. His kindness and generosity set the tone for the entire day. The tour gave us a genuine feel for the real Dominican Republic beyond the manicured resort bubble. We started with authentic empanadas (some of the best we had all trip), then visited the home of a lovely Dominican grandmother and her large family, which gave us a true sense of how local people actually live. From there we stopped at a chocolate factory to see wild cocoa trees growing and sampled handmade Dominican chocolate and cocoa tea, followed by a walk through a bustling open-air market and a beautiful basilica. We then drove into the mountains for a delicious home-cooked Dominican meal in the countryside, watching farm life in action and seeing coffee and chocolate made by hand right in front of us. The day wrapped up at a cigar factory, where we rolled our own cigars and had time to shop before heading back to the resort. Jeremy's warmth, knowledge, and passion for sharing Dominican culture shone through every stop. This isn't a tourist-trap excursion — it's a genuine, heartfelt window into Dominican life. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see the real DR beyond the resort walls.”
“✨️Discovering the local Dominican life with Jeremy was a true pleasure. markets, basilica cathedral, streetlife, coffee, cacao, cigar production all in one day! moreover his positive energy, stories about local life, exploring the culture was super fun and a must do when in Punta Cana! ✨️🌴🥥🇩🇴 start was around 9am-4pm w/drinks”
“We came as a group of 17 and did 3 excursions with Concept Tours: the Dominican Life, Isla Saona, and Country-side. All 3 were amazing!!! The first one allowed us to visit a casa tipica, as well as fabrics of coffee, cacao, coconut oil, and cigars. We had a typical dominican lunch at a plantation in the mountains. It was delicious! For la Isla Saona, we boarded a private motomaran and headed to the natural pool to swim and observe the star fish, then headed to Saona for lunch and a beach day. That part of the island is peaceful and beautiful. Then for the countryside excursion, we went to la Montaña Redonda from where you have an amazing 360 view of the mountains, the lagoons and the ocean. We then visited another local plantation and finished the day with a 1.5 hr quad ride by a virgin beach. If you want to see a different side of the Dominican Republic and not be with large groups of tourists, I highly recommend Jeremy and Concept Tours. The customer service is excellent and the experience was unforgettable!”
“This was a great experience. They said they normally do the excursion with French people so we had an interpreter for English come along. She was so nice and knowledgeable. You'll definitely sweat. They provide traditional breakfast snack and a local lunch in the mountains. They also provide beverages on the bus and snacks at the end. Only thing that wasn't great is the air conditioning on the bus doesn't reach the back, so there was no relief in between stops. So sit in the front! A great look into real culture and Dominican life.”
“Rey was amazing! Reynaldo Almanzar Cruz ( Rey ) +1-829-531-8137. Very responsible, polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and follows through with every promise. He goes above and beyond expectations and you won’t be disappointed! My wife and I have been to the Dominican 3 times and plan to return annually. We will be contacting him when we return and after meeting Rey, we won’t use anyone else!”
