“We were staying at Royalton Bavaro and didn’t realized that the pick up was outside of the resort. We almost missed the bus because of it. The excursion overall was okay, I feel we got what we paid for. It was crowded from beginning to end. The buggy ride was fun but there were too many people in a group combined with other groups. The cenote swim was very crowded as well. Basically there was a line of people down the narrow staircase leading into a cave. You dip it, they take a picture, you get out. The tasting was more of a sales pitch for products, it was far from “typical Dominican house” they advertise. Every step of the way is a sales pitch. Even for the ride, they want you to buy bandanas for $5 and goggles for $20. They want you to buy things in a souvenir shop and give you a shopping cart. They take pictures multiple times and want you to buy them. It felt like a giant sales pitch. One nice part of the trip was Macao Beach. I wish we could spend more time there.”
