Saona Island is a tropical island in the Dominican Republic, part of Cotubanamá National Park, famous for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters. It is a very popular tourist destination, mainly for the excursions organized from Punta Cana that usually include a catamaran trip and a stop at the natural pools. There are two permanent settlements on the island: Mano Juan, a fishing village, and a naval base in Catuano.

“Our time getting back was pushed further and further back. The catamaran was very late getting back. Once people started to get on the catamaran, the boat that was taking people back to the catamaran, started to take on water. We were supposed to take two other boats back, but we’re unable to since the one was taking on water. The catamaran was very overloaded probably not enough lifejackets for everyone. They sailed back into the dark. We did not get back to the Doc till after 8:30 PM. They had to coast catamaran into the dock dodging boats in the water which the catamaran could not see because they did not have any lights. By the time they got us back to our hotel we missed dinner because all the restaurants were closed. I feel like I owe us a credit or a refund for this trip. The trip itself was very nice except for the return back to the Doc.”
“Incredible day on the island of Saona, Juan organized us from start to finish the day and it is 10/10 ⭐️ The food on site: a delicious paella, unlimited drinks on the boat, incredible natural pool and what to say about the island...😍 🇩🇴 Thank you for everything Juan, I recommend, he speaks French also 🙏🏽”
