“The actual fishing experience was fun. However, my issue was with getting to the fishing charter. The description didn’t say that you must take a small water taxi fishing boat to get to the middle of the water where you must transfer from the small boat to the fishing charter without any steps, rails, any safety precautions at all (besides a life jacket). You are required to jump down into the taxi boat from the pier then once out in the water where the charter is you must climb out of the small boat up onto the charter boat. This is not ideal for people with mobility issues, strength issues, disabilities, or fears of the water. I actually fell transferring from the small fishing boat to the charter and half of my body was in the ocean while the top half was in the charter and the captains had to pull me into the charter boat to keep me from falling all the way into the water. My legs are all bruised up. It was a horrifying experience, but the crew was really nice and they worked hard to ensure that my entire body didn’t go into the ocean and risk drowning. This information should be fully disclosed in the description of the excursion. Also, be sure to take Dramamine and any other motion sickness regimen. The waves are extremely strong and high once the charter is way out into the ocean. Two people on our excursion got sick. Overall, the group reeled in some good size Mahi Mahi. The captains are very experienced and they worked the lines the entire time. The boat does not come to a stop for you to fish. You must reel in the catch while the boat is still moving. Have fun if you go!”
“Do not waste your time with Funny Party Punta Cana on a fishing trip. We came in from the US and they canceled our trip at 10 pm the night before. I booked the trip a month ahead of time, provided my address, and at the last minute they told me it was too far for them to pick me up.”
